Poodle Mothlight

Category: Woolyne Companions

Artist: northfarer

Mothlights are small, playful creatures that come out in the evenings in the autumn. They like hiding in tall grasses,  tree canopies, and dark woodlands where they give off a beautiful yet eerie light. During the spooky season in Andras, these mischievious creatures also like hiding in carved out pumpkins, giving them an otherworldly glow. Due to their association with autumn and Hallowoolyne celebrations, some old folktales state that mothlights serve as guides for lost spirits. They say they will shepherd wandering souls to the afterlife where they may finally rest in peace.

Cherikeet

Category: Woolyne Companions

Cherikeets are sweet, palm-sized birds that love to sing and love to love. Cherikeets make the perfect companion for woolyne who love company, as many owners enjoy keeping their little lovebird on their shoulders. In fact, Cherikeets get lonely very easily- and will sing a forlorn song when left alone for too long. It may be best to have more than one!
Cherikeets come in a variety of warm colors, mostly reds and pinks.

Eitraven

Category: Woolyne Companions

This companion is so deeply connected to Ice lyss that some even say that its made entirely out of Frost. Always cold to the touch, when they land whorls of ice spread out from their perch. Folklore says that if you spot a flock of these Eitravens that the coming winter will be harsh and cold.

Lumiar

Category: Woolyne Companions

The Lumiar is a small creature rarely seen, usually only by Woolyne soaring high above the clouds on their drakern, and only at night. These small companions love to soar in the high altitude among the stars and clouds! Curiously they appear in greater number during the Starsea festival-rumor has it they trail the falling stars to the surface before soaring once more to the skies. Always appear in the colors of the night sky, with one bright tail feather on their back.

Sootmus

Category: Woolyne Companions

The Sootmus is a small critter that can usually be found in old firepits, kitchens, wildfire remains, or anywhere where a fire has been. Folk tales say that each Sootmus is the spirit of a Woolyne who was a victim of fire; indeed, Sootmus are quite common in the ruins of burned buildings, tails flickering like dying embers among the remains. Many Woolyne view the Sootmus as good luck, and treat the creatures with respect. These creatures are easy to take care of-they only eat soot and ash! Always appear in black, gray and dark brown colors- the colors of soot and ash!

<a href="https://andrasians.com/world/items?name=Solstine" class="display-item">Solstine</a>

Solstine

Category: Woolyne Companions

It's said that when frost appears, a Solstine has passed through. Claimed responsible for frosted windows, foliage, and delicate curls of ice, the Solstine is actually rarely seen. They are solitary creatures, and prefer the wilds rather than any cities or towns-only making their passage in the darkness of night, leaving flakes of frost on the ground. These creatures release icy cold motes from their whiskers and their fur shimmers with the iridescence of newly formed frost. Always appear in shades of blues and whites, like ice.

<a href="https://andrasians.com/world/items?name=Noctyre" class="display-item">Noctyre</a>

Noctyre

Category: Woolyne Companions

Noctyre are famed for only being seen at night, solitary or in small flocks of fellow Noctyre. They are purely nocturnal creatures and their night vision is the best of any known species in Andras, making them efficient hunters. Curiously though they leave their prey almost untouched-save for their blood which is completely drained. Noctyre survive off of a pure liquid diet, making them a bit tricky to care for.

Cookietrice

Category: Woolyne Companions

These mischievous creatures are the offspring of errant lyss and bakery goodies! A cookie that literally has taken on a mind and life of its own, the Cookietrice has a notorious sweet tooth-they will snatch your dessert right out from under your nose! Despite their habit for getting into places they shouldn't, they are incredibly sweet towards their owners and make wonderful companions.

Felistra

Category: Woolyne Companions

These small furry creatures make great companions! An adept fisher, the Felistra can be seen gliding through the water-at least when they aren't sunbathing! They are incredibly curious and intelligent-a Woolyne owner will have their hands full keeping their Felistra out of places they shouldn't be. They come in all sorts of different natural colors and patterns!

<a href="https://andrasians.com/world/items?name=Lizargo" class="display-item">Lizargo</a>

Lizargo

Category: Woolyne Companions

Lizargo are solitary creatures with a nasty attitude and a tendency to hoard shiny objects. These lizards are about the size of a medium sized dog. They're tireless hunters with a venomous bite that weakens their prey before they swallow it whole. When one Lizargo comes across another, they fight to prove which one is stronger-the weaker being banished from the territory. As a companion it takes a truly talented Woolyne to earn their trust. Always appear in shades of red, brown, deep purples and maroons, yellows and oranges.

Fel-vern

Category: Woolyne Companions

The patron animal of Ur-bahn, these fierce creatures tie into the legends of the city's founding. They're proud and haughty creatures but endlessly affectionate to Woolyne they care for. Native Fel-verns make their homes among the cliffs and waterfalls of Ur-Bahn; though nowadays they're just as often seen perched on a Woolyne's shoulders! Always appear with a variation of reds, blues, greens and yellows.

Medium Companion

<a href="https://andrasians.com/world/items?name=Chicern" class="display-item">Chicern</a>

Chicern

Category: Woolyne Companions

The smaller cousin of Odysse's native Drakerns, the Chicern doesn't quite have the smarts that its cousin has. They are a highly food motivated breed but they can make quite cuddly companions! Many Woolyne keep a few for their eggs as they are essential to plenty of food dishes! Others like to show them in national competitions-of which there's a surprisingly large following.

Can appear in different colors, although the white version is most common! Please reference real chicken breeds for their alternative color patterns!
