During a campaign, Della was injured when she put her life on the line to save a pair of cubs who lived in the village. The weapon in question was an explosive-type weapon, and the shrapnel was embedded deep enough that it was near impossible to remove without extensive damage to her arm. This, plus scarring along the left side of her face and body forced Della to be honorable discharged due to injury. She uses a lyss-powered prosthetic.

Della enjoys singing and often can be heard singing chants and shanties, especially the songs from her military days.
