Having mastered Forgery enough, it was in fact Weisheng that insisted Alorus try to pick up a weapon to help him direct his magic through. Not only as a focus, but to help him, if any situation were to show itself, where he could not use his shifter powers. It was, after all, always better to be prepared than not to be right? As such, Alorus had sat down with the Mazri and talked long and hard about it.
"I feel like a dagger would work best for you," he dark wool had told his friend, wiping a by of Lyss that was slowly dripping down his nose and maw, "It's small, it's portable, and in a pinch, you can swipe it out with ease. How about it, what do you think?"
"Hmmm..." they were both looking at a fine selection of weapons on display, and the smaller Amiyn wool was having difficulty trying to figure out what would work best, "I don't know, man... the dagger may be a good idea, you're right, but also, I think in close proximity, I likely wouldn't use a dagger. I would shift. I think instead, the idea is... if I used a weapon, I would be far away from whatever it is I am targeting, so a dagger seems near counter productive to this."
His eyes strayed to the rack of weapons, and he passed his hand over some of them, waiting for something to call to him, because he figured, eventually, clearly... something would, right?
He passed his hand over swords, and shields, and hammers, blunt and sharp weapons, and tsked his tongue over his teeth in frustration. Not even the lance seemed to call to him, and he was about to sigh and walk out when a bow caught his attention. The wood of it carved in spectacular manner, depicting what looked like a gnarled, twisted tree branch, with a nest and bird adorning it.
Something about the intricate design caught his eye, and he ambled towards it, passing his hand over it.
The moment he made contact with the wood, he knew he'd walk out of the store with this one weapon as a focus of sorts, "This one," he claimed softly, and Weisheng ambled over, leaning over to examine it closely.
"It's masterfully crafted, for sure," he said softly, and that done, he nodded and made his way out of the store to wait for his friend to finish the transaction and join him.
