As a note I am using Corbin, Alorus' tamed Drakern, which he technically got from Sparrow for this. I felt it had more heart that way.

Alorus spent a lot of time with Corbin, his Drakern. Whenever he was outside, the giant bird would often follow him. Even when he didn't need to ride him, the creature would not be far away. A stark contrast to the Elkin he'd received as a gift from a friend, who still could not care less about him yet. Corbin was, at that point more pet than mount, honestly. He'd even adapted the house in a way the creature could reside within.

As such, when the large animal was not there to wake him up from a power nap he'd taken, Alorus was... well, not alarmed, but at least vaguely intrigued, if not slightly worried. Where on earth could the creature have gotten itself? Did it see something interesting outside and was thus, busy with that? After all, the large bird was very inquisitive, almost like a giant cat in a way, really, and smart as all hell too.

He'd put the thought out of his mind until dinner had rolled around and the Drakern was still nowhere to be seen. That's when worry started to settle in, and Alorus went outside.

It took him a while to find his mount, cuddled up in between two barrels behind his house. Inside a small space, almost as if it were trying to make itself small and unnoticeable. It's breathing was labored and odd sounding, and after placing one hand against its side, the woolyne noticed his pet's elevated temperature.

Startled, he cast the first spell that came to mind; a small cooling charm he'd grown to love over the summer days, and instantly the bird calmed down, but not enough.

Putting his fingers in his maw, he whistled, and soon enough, his Eitraven, Elron, dropped down from the window in his upstairs bedroom. The large bird stared at him with inquisitive eyes, "I need you to go fetch a doctor, Elron. I'm going to give you a note," he scribbled a very fast message on a scrap piece of paper, items he kept with him lately because of his studying, "I want you to go north, into the village, okay? Fetch Remiel if you can."

With those words, the bird flew off, and after a few seconds, Alorus turned his attention back to Corbin, keeping the cooling charm going whenever it sputtered out as he comforted his friend, "You'll be just fine..."
