The magical beast, Remiel could have done without.

He was, by no stretch of the word, a warrior of any kind, and he was quite sure Siwa would not fair any much better in battle either. Maybe if they'd brought Alorus with them, they could have stood a chance in combat, but as things stood, it took them two more dives and enough diversion to actually get past the beast without engaging it.

The fact he was just... not aquatically inclined did not help matters much. All in all, he felt he was more hindrance to Siwa than actual help but still, they did manage to get into the grotto, which was what really mattered at the end of the day.

They hadn't been sure what they would see once they managed to make it past the monster, but it was definitely not what they found inside! The gold and treasure would have been sufficient to draw their attention but everything else was exceedingly interesting too.

"Well, I hope we never have to do something quite like that again," he hissed under his breath as he dragged himself to shore, watching the aquatic traits the potions they'd drunk recede until only their tails remain affected. They still had several hours of being affected by the potions, and thus, they could afford to linger a bit, and at least catalogue what they were seeing.

"Hush, you had a ton of fun."

"That's honestly not what I'd call fun, and you know it."

Rather than debate him, Siwa rolled her eyes and tossed him something she'd picked up, which he caught more on autopilot than he cared to admit. His hands closed on an old tome and he turned it right side up to begin reading, immediately sucked into the interesting words he was reading over. This tome was not magical in any way, merely informational, but he had to admit just beholding it made the whole ordeal worth it.

Looking up, he caught Siwa smirking at him, and he tossed her a faint glare, well aware she knew what he felt already. Rather than give her the satisfaction, he scoffed softly and took note of the many books around him, jotting down the titles and authors, picking up journals and magical tomes here and there to catalogue.

Siwa rolled her eyes fondly before turning to pass her gaze over the weapons and gold, taking a few shards, weighing them in her hands before setting them back down. The riches did not really appeal to her, and though it was true that they'd perhaps gone a bit over budget with the sea touched potions they'd had to buy, it hadn't been terribly expensive. She'd done it more for the love of the game than anything; the satisfaction of getting here was more than enough.

Of course, that was when she spotted the pearl, and instantly was drawn to it. She sat down and took it in her hands, looking at it like she would a magic ball, as if she could distinguish something within the gleam.

A roar from the outside caught their attention some time later, and she'd not moved from her spot, blinking as if startled.

Remiel himself seemed to draw a rune in the air, a spell of some sort before he tsked his tongue over his fangs, "We're going to have to leave," he told her, "We won't have enough time to make it to shore safely otherwise, and as much as you seem to have taken to the water, I have not," he turned and watched her looking at the pearl for a few moments before he tilted his head, "You taking it with?"

A small pause, hesitation and then "No."

"No?"

"No," she confirmed, and then set it back where she'd found it, "I almost feel like it's meant to stay here and be found. Again and again... not just by us."

"Hmmmm..." Remiel looked at the tome he was holding, and then let out a sigh, "You may not be wrong," a pause, and then he walked towards a far off wall in the cove, sketching some runes into the stone. Shaking his hand, he hissed and looked at his now mildly damaged claws, "This will make accessing the grotto easier for us, if we ever need to return. I agree about not taking anything, but no harm in making a return trip in the future easier either."

That said, and with a single look back at the pearl she felt still calling to her... they both left.
