Happy New Years everyone! 🎊

Thank you for your patience as I post this months update!

The Winter Solstice Festival prompt has closed and left space for similar seasonal winter prompts. These will be open to play until the end of February before we transition to Spring prompts. These winter prompts will also yield an ethereal shard as a reward. In addition, we added a design donation prompt where you players can donate designs to be raffled back to the community for free (limited to one design per member a month)! This prompt will give you an opportunity to earn 5 ethereal shards for your donation.

We also started our next storyline prompt, "A Strange Chill". This prompt will be open until the end of February and will need user participation for the second part to be unlocked!

You'll also want to check out what's new in the general shop: regular weapons for warriors, and a shifter stone that you can purchase for free with your character banks. Though keep in mind that you would need to add them manually to your character's inventory! These items also now include their damage bonuses in their description, which will come in handy when mini and big bosses appear in future storylines :)

Master class ribbons also have additional bonuses (included in their description) that go to characters who earn them.

Thank you all again for playing the arpg and I can't wait to share with everyone the future story plans 🥺💖

Hey Everyone!

This month is packed with a lot of fun things. The Winter Solstice Festival prompt as returned this year, as well as an addition of the Dress Up Contest prompt where your Andrasians must decorate their cookietrice companion as it eats its decorations. Check these two prompts out under the event category!

You might have also noticed that a new Storylines Menu drop-down is in the navigation bar! It includes all the past completed group storylines in chronological order! In addition we added world map pages of both Andras and Valoire which is the dimension that faelidh originate from! There is also the woolyne NPC page and the Faelidh NPC page which is still a work in progress.

Next we have three new forum channels in the group discord to help organize user run events and activities!  General user run raffles, prompts ect are in the user activities channel! We also have the addition of user made guilds and caravans! Below the rules in each forum channel is also an application form for members who wish to create their own guild/caravan to fill out to give easy access/ info for other member that would wish to join/ participate. Approved ones can then create their own forum post to host more specific activities!

The Mystery Seller returning with the winter traits, companions and items! As well as the Winter Caravan Queen Wynter giving out the daily advent gifts. Be sure to collect daily because she has a lot of fun surprises to give this month in celebration of the winter festival! The bonus gift will also be a surprise but keep in mind that it is possible to purchase it in the mystery sellers shop!

The Secret gift exchange assignments should have all been received, and just a reminder to not share it til the 25th!  The gift exchange prompt turn ins will also open during the time frame it is due!

Finally we have an Advent calendar for this year's designs! As time gets closer these designs will be teased a bit more!

Happy November everyone!

This month we have the drakern races back again open for both Woolyne and Faelidh alike with a new participation prize of a drakern elemental essence potion. This cool item allows an elemental trail follow behind a drakern while they are in flight.  In addition we have the return of the prompt Winter is Coming. Both of these are in the Event Category for prompts!

The winner of the Myo event raffle for a legendary trait ticket is UltaRowlet 😊

Signups for the holiday exchange is also open now! Please respond to the featured comment below following the form! Even though there can be multiple characters linked you can only draw one character for the exchange. If you draw multiple there aren't any bonus rewards. The application will close the 25th of November and assignments will be sent out the 26th!  The gift exchange itself will be due from December 24- January 10th, if you can't finish your piece please let galestormKitsune know on discord.

As a part of the one year anniversary we have a lot of fun goodies for everyone. Please be sure to collect your anniversary Giftbag with very special items from the general shop! We also decided to extend the free MYO event til the end of October!

Another exciting update is the introduction for the master class shops for artisan faelidh and woolyne! To enter the shops you need to get a master ribbon by completing the woolyne (forger, warrior and/or shifter) or artisan faelidh master prompts!

Moving onto October prompts, we have the return of the Hallowoolyne prompt as well as the first part of a two part story prompt to help Tricky find their artisan partner Treat.  Be sure to check them out under Event Prompts!

With this introduction we are also adding a new woolyne companion/ artisan faelidh mount called Mothlights; designed by our amazing mod northfarer!

As for quality of life updates, we added the daily advent link to the navigation bar for easier access. We also have the website clock updated to California time instead of the time it was before.

Finally we have a special letter for you all to decipher attached below as well as a guide to translate it!

August 2023 Update

Posted 1 year ago :: Last edited 1 year ago by northfarer

Happy August everyone!

We’re excited to bring you an update this month! We’ve got a new event prompt up – it’s time for the Starsea Festival! For those of you new to Andras, or for those of you that need a refresher, the Starsea Festival is an annual celebration at the end of summer where there are nightly meteor showers that light up the sky. Many Andrasians hold festivals and carnivals during this time of the year. Come celebrate with us!

Check out this month’s prompt, Starsea Festival. We have a few new rewards for you, including a brand new set of companions called sea wyrms. These small dragon-like creatures hatch from crystalline eggs, which can be found in explorations and in this month’s event prompt. They come in several unique variations! There are 9 total different sea wyrms to collect.

We also have a few new trait items to introduce! The trailing stars trait, the star halo trait, the frills trait, and the tide’s gift trait can be found in this month’s event prompt only in the form of star pieces. Different colored star pieces will grant different traits. Don’t wait though – these items and this new companion type will only be around until the prompt’s ending date, September 30th, and will retire until next year.

♦♦♦

A new raffle is now live! Enter it for a chance to win this lovely faelidh by one of our guest artists, Sunnii_Side.

Ends September 12th at 11:59 EST.

♦♦♦

That's it! Thank you for sticking with us while we planned behind the scenes. We hope you enjoy this month's content!

May 2023 Update!

Posted 1 year ago :: Last edited 1 year ago by Key

Hello everyone and happy May!

---

First of all, one of our bigger announcements; Fayeskies and Key will be stepping down from being part-owners. We will both be staying on as mods and helping out with the arpg and assets but will no longer be involved in huge arpg decisions/running events/running the site.

A note from Fayeskies: “Hello everyone! It has been a pleasure to work on Andras with the team. I primarily worked on creating prompts, new items, new traits, and art assets for the Lorekeeper. I had a great time being so involved in the ARPG, but due to some personal reasons, I’ve decided to step down as a co-owner so that I can be a mod instead. I will continue to help with Andras, but I will not be as heavily involved as I had been before. Thank you for understanding, and I look forward to what the group has planned in the future!”

A note from Key: "Hey everyone! It was a pleasure being a large part of getting the ARPG rebooted. I primarily worked on setting up the site and helping come up with prompts/events/traits/item ideas. I hope you enjoyed what I had a part in but I will be stepping down to focus more on my own ARPG and career in general. I will still be around but not as heavily involved as I had been. Thank you for understanding."

Dryadfest has ended! We will be rolling raffles and handing out prizes as soon as we can.

New Discord Rules

We are trying to keep Andras a positive and respectful place, so we are introducing some new rules!

---

-No chatting about unreleased content in the discord; if you find something on the site that you haven't seen announced/released yet, please keep it to yourself or discuss in DMs with friends.

(Sometimes you will find things on the site that we are planning to release later. A lot of us are very busy and help with multiple ARPGs so we need to get things uploaded ahead of time. Please respect that some people do not want to be spoiled on upcoming things. Our lorekeeper doesn't have a way to hide certain things like traits or items.)

---

-No arguing with mods in questions chat, you can DM a mod if you want to discuss something.

(Questions chat in the discord is not for the discussion of answers. If you do not get an answer you are pleased with, please be respectful and do not publically argue with/push the mods. If you need to discuss something about a question you asked, please DM a mod or ask to be DM'd about it. We want it to be easy to find answers in the chat!)

---

Misc Features

As always Key and Freya are working in the background on the site. You may have noticed you can make further edits to your andrasians' profiles and some items can be resold back to the shop for shards.
We will continue trying to release more site features; as a general reminder you can suggest things for the site but it may be slow to be implemented or not be able to be implemented at all right now.
Thank you for understanding!

March 2023 Update!

Happy March, Andrasians!

I hope everyone's doing well and the weather is improving where you are!

88-image.png

This month, it seems the weather isn't quite right in Andras; there are strange, magical patches of spring popping up in wintry places! You've been tasked with investigating the issue by the Spring Caravan Queen, Lark. Check out the prompt here!

---

This month, we're just running the one event prompt as usual while we're still preparing for Dryad Merriment next month.
We will probably have smaller prompts in between larger festivals like this going forward to give everyone a break and prepare for the next festival.
This will be one of our biggest festivals yet with lots of different things that we're still working on for you all, please look forward to it!

Roadmap and Behind the Scenes

Posted 1 year ago :: Last edited 1 year ago by northfarer

Hello everyone! We wanted to check in and talk about a few important things. Those of us on the moderator team wanted to share some news about what we’re working on for the future, and we want to share some information about what goes on behind the scenes. We hope that this news post can clear up some questions that you may have!

First and foremost…

what we're working on

Those of us on the team would like to share some information about what’s in development for the ARPG! Some things are being worked on more actively, and other things are being worked on, although a bit slower. Here’s what to expect in the future with the group:

  • A dryad festival in April! One of our owners, Key, has taken the lead on this project. We’re fleshing out the dryad legendary subtype by giving them a little more lore, a festival akin to the solstice festivals for Amiyn and Mazri Andrasians, and brand new traits. Along with this, we plan on introducing a few other surprises for the event. Stay tuned!
  • Festivals for the sea-touched and seraph legendary subtypes. Similar to what we’re doing with dryad Andrasians, we’re planning on creating a yearly festival/event prompt centered on these unique subtypes. Please keep an eye out over the next year to see these subtypes get some love!
  • Shard adoptables. This is something we would love to introduce to the group, and it is in the works. We would love to give players the opportunity to purchase designs with the group currency: shards.
  • Discord raffles. We have done a few test runs with our giveaway bot, and we’re aiming on holding these more often! Please make sure to sign up for the raffles role on the discord! Similarly, we’re looking into doing scavenger hunts on our Lorekeeper!
  • New art for traits, items, and more. This is something that is happening more slowly, but we’re trying our best to update as many things as we can.
  • A mount/companion size chart. We know some players would like to see how large (or tiny!) the creatures of Andras are in comparison to woolynes and faelidh. This is lower on our to-do list, but it is certainly something that we would like to tackle in the future.
  • New items, traits, companions, and customization options for Andras characters and creatures. Ever since launch, the mods have made an effort to introduce new items, traits, and companions each month/prompt so that old (and new!) players can have some fun with the ARPG. We’ve seen a lot of interest in creating items that allow players to customize mounts and companions further, so we’re brainstorming ways to allow this! We’re thinking about options similar to the sparkle nikyak potion. Stay tuned while we work on these features!
  • Guides are being worked on by the lovely Herboreal. She’s working hard to make the site easier to understand, and she’s working to make certain systems and game aspects clearer.
  • There are certainly other things we’re working on! Right now, these things are aspects that we’re more actively trying to develop. We hope that you’re excited about what’s to come!

What goes on behind the scenes?

This is a subject those of us on the mod team would like to broach, and we would like to touch base with everyone. We understand that some players would like some more transparency about what goes on behind the scenes, and why some things might be moving at a slower pace. This is important, and we would like to share some stuff about what’s going on, how things work, and what to expect from the ARPG. We hope this clears up some questions!

To begin with, we’d like to address how development works. Currently, we have a small mod team. All of us work to keep Andras up and running in our free time as volunteers, and any work we do is done for free. Because we work on Andras in our free time, we try to do as much as we can, but we can’t typically host events to the degree that some groups do. As a note, we don’t have plans in the near future to expand our team -  right now, we would prefer to keep our team on the smaller side. However, it is something we may consider down the line.

When woolynes were created, the idea for the group was to be a casual ARPG, and when we later rebooted as Andras, we aimed to keep that same style of ARPG and gameplay. As such, we aren’t planning on having multiple story-heavy prompts going on at once, but rather monthly prompts with some new lore and the occasional larger event. Previously, large events were held once per year (like the Rift, or the Search for the Arcanum), and we would love to host similar events, but it requires a lot of development and work behind the scenes, as events like these have many moving parts. While we do plan on having more larger storyline events, we ask for your patience as we’re a small team developing the ARPG in our spare time. We appreciate everyone’s participation in our monthly prompts, training prompts, exploration prompts, and mini prompts, and we love to see what you guys create with the lore and prompts in the meantime!

Another concern that our players have had in the past is new features for our Lorekeeper. While we love the idea of adding new extensions, it’s often costly and time-consuming to install new features. Freya, our site developer, helps us in her spare time, and some features require custom coding that isn’t possible for her to do for us at the moment. Costs for site upkeep also comes out of our own pockets, which can also be a challenge when considering anything Lorekeeper-related. We sincerely apologize if we’re missing a feature you’d like added! We may add more in the future, but in the meantime, we appreciate your patience!

Furthermore, one thing we would like to shine some light on is how we develop events, prompts, items, and lore, and how we tackle basic site upkeep. Currently, all mods pitch in with prompt, MYO, and design approvals. You might have seen our lovely mod Drake help with a lot of approvals (thank you Drake!). Fayeskies typically writes our monthly prompts, and she brainstorms new item and companion ideas with the team, but Key has taken over for a bit while Fayeskies finishes up college. Gale and Fayeskies both work on art assets for the site, such as trait images, Lorekeeper images, companion art, item art, and more, with Noctli assisting in creating some images for our shops and items. Naye and Alley help us a lot with discord moderation (thank you guys)! Key helps with many features on our site, including helping plan new prompts/events, guest artist events, and new lore. Herboreal helps out with a lot of stuff behind the scenes, like guides, the masterlist, and creating other things for the Lorekeeper site.

When it comes to brainstorming ideas for new prompts, lore, traits, and more, all of our mods come together to bounce ideas off of each other. Similarly, we all discuss new features we’d like to implement and suggestions with each other. Sometimes, we have certain prompts or events that some mods take the lead on, such as our upcoming dryad festival. Key and the other mods are very excited about this event!

Wrapping Up

We hope that some of the information here helps answer some questions that you guys have! Those of us on the mod team enjoy seeing the amazing art and writing that you guys create within the Andras universe. In the future, we have some fun events planned, and we hope that you’re excited to see some new prompts, items, traits, and companions from us as well.

Before you go, please feel free to fill out this survey about the Andras ARPG. All of your responses are anonymous! We would love to hear from you! Check out the survey here
